Hey!
Just got a Lenovo Explorer, but can’t use it, im stuck with error 4-1 «Check your USB cable»

Headset is connected to usb 3.0 and in the device manager properties it says «headset is working fine», but at the same time below i have this code:
«Device Error : 0x80040203 :
E_DEVICE_USB_SPEED_TOO_SLOW»

Im not sure what is wrong, i have two usb 3.0 ports on my motherboard and nothing else is plugged to them, only the headset.
MB Gigabyte B85M-HD3.

The card I linked was just an example, but you could install any PCI-Ex1/PCI-Ex4 card in the lower PCI-Ex16 slot of your board.
I’m as much in the dark as you are. Your motherboard supports USB3.0 and the Lenovo requires USB3.0 so it SHOULD work.

Go into Device Manager and expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers tree
Right-click USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) and select properties. Go to the Driver tab and tell me the Driver Date and Version.

So i try installing Windows 7 drivers but it gives me an error, «your system doen’t fit the minimum requirements»

Are you using any kind of extension cables for the headset? If not, then the only thing I can think of is that your motherboard’s USB3 ports are not up to snuff. Is there any chance you could get a USB3.0 expansion card?

Also, be careful with the headset hinge. Mine broke after about a year of minimal use, Had to Gorilla Glue it back together.

Nope, im not using any extension cables.
I was thinking about getting a PCI card, but it seems like my graphic card is covering these PCIx4 ports xD
But i have a front panel with usb 3.0 connected to motherboard with usb 3.0 20-pin cable, also without any extension.
But speed is low too.

So i have version 10.0.19041.964 of 22.04.2021.
Also i have a regular PCI slot that i can use, i will try to find a card that supports this slot.

In Bios «XHCI mode» was disabled. I changed it to «Enabled», now headset is workinkg
And usb ports are fine too

FED up 3 moths now tring to get help its a reverb g1 was working finds it just not usb 3.0 i have tricked it by deleteing wrr portal and hollow lense and it shows up as can rum wmr then whan i install back to the usb3.0 (x) in the box and sys cant run it i guess its a blessing i was about to spend my savings on buying 2x wmr headsets with this Shambles support I wont bother they ccant even be bothereds its like lets breat the old g1 so they have to buy the g2 I WILL NOT BE

Hello,

I have problem with my VR HP Reverb G2 — Mixed reality portal Error code 4-1 (use USB 3.0 superspeed), Device Error : 0x80040203 : E_DEVICE_USB_SPEED_TOO_SLOW

My PC:
MSI x570 Gaming wifi edge
AMD 3950x
Nvidia 3970
SDD

I tried unplug and plug VR, new bios, new and old drivers, powered hub, reinstall windows, actual windows update, in bios edit PCIe Gen 4 to Gen 3, but without good ressults.

Yes I tried all 5 USB.
My VR worked only one month. When I reinstalled older driver for GPU for better FPS, now – I cant turn on VR — still error 4-1and 0x80040203 (slow USB).

MBO x570 never detect my VR before, when I tried all USB. I used USB hub and than MBO detected my VR HP Reverb G2, but connection was be unstabille…solution: Edit in BIOS PCIe Gen4 to Gen3.

But I have only error 4-1, now.

AMD chipset drivers: amd_chipset_software_2.13.27.501 but i tried drivers from website: ttps://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MPG-X570-GAMING-EDGE-WIFI#down-driver&Win10 64

The latest AMD chipset drivers can only be downloaded directly from AMD’s website. One should never download the chipset drivers from board manufactures as they are almost always outdated, and sometimes many versions outdated. So they won’t be the «latest» unless they are from AMD direct.

I’ve updated my BIOS, I have a B550 Mortar WIFI, and without forcing PCIe 3.0, right now, my USB devices seems to be working fine.

VFW_E_ENUM_OUT_OF_SYNC Background
